It helps that almost all of them seem to have flawless skin.

In the last pic, the girl on the left reminds me of a young Sandra Oh pre-surgery.

It's sad when one embraces the look and culture of another so much, they find their culture's genetics sub par. If they were meant to have caucasian features they would have been born caucasian.

Some of them look like they're just wearing make up and haven't had anything done.

I don't know about Korea, but girls here in Japan are MASTERS at applying makeup. A friend of mine has less than perfect skin, but you would never know it after she's finished doing her face. And it looks so natural!

I've noticed many Korean/Jap/Chinese girls with beautiful skin. We're talking smooth, poreless-like-a-baby-butt skin. You would have think that they've never been through puberty with the crazy hormones that turn your skin into crap. I wonder what their secret is? If it's genetics, then I'm screwed.

My personal feeling is the majority of women who get these kind of surgeries still want to retain their ethnic identities...they still look Asian, no?

Yes, it's also makeup. However, the results are quite subtle...almost natural looking. You would barely be able to detect any changes. And then you have some really obvious ones like this one. Btw, it's the same person. Currently, she has the really pointy nose.

Noooo, what a waste of natural beauty. I love Asian eyes, especially the single lid look. I have a thing for exotic (i.e. ethnic) features.

And Asian women do have amazing skin, I notice that all the time, too! No fair to have the nice skin, beautiful hair, AND gorgeous eyes!

I think they just want to look more attractive. I don't think it has anything to do with looking white. Why can't a minority get plastic surgery to look better according to their own individual standards without being accused of trying to look caucasian? It's never the other way around. People don't accuse whites of trying to look"ethnic" even though they get lip injections, butt implants, and other procedures. race shouldn't matter. I think it should ALWAYS be up to the person getting the surgery done; what they want the outcome to be. No one else's opinion should matter.

thats so tru...i really like the way you put it.....
im a white female and i have noticed that white women (this is generalized...so dont come back and hate me) do not have the fullest, voluptious lips...(some white women even have the no lip phenomena when only the gums show) i have noticed however that most of my asian, black, and latin friends have beautiful full , shapely lips....ive never seen the no lip phenomema anyone other than white people

with this being said, we dont label the huge trend of white women seeking fuller lips as trying to be asian, black, latin...so lets stop doing it to other people....

That's a Korean pop singer named Suh In-Young. Here's another pic.

Single lids - lids without visible creases
Double lids - lids with visible creases

Perhaps this is a better visual representation. (Btw, it's the same person before and after eyelid surgery.)

Single lid

Double lid
