You may not mean it to, but that is fairly racist. I think their eyes were beautiful before, such a sahme that these girls feel the need to "westernise" their features when they were so pretty before. Different ethnicities make the world go round

Re: Korean Stars' PS before and after
Yeah, and if you grew up there surrounded by other people with 'slits for eyes' you'd think it was as normal as anybody elses.
Helllo perspective?

Re: Korean Stars' PS before and after
Wow. The comment isn't really racist but ignorant. The perception that these features are "slits" rather than eyes is just that...a western perception. It is sad that comments such as "..if I had slits for eyes" influences these girls to go to such extremes to fit in with the western world.

Re: Korean Stars' PS before and after
Yea I agree. I'm also Asian and many Asians have naturally doubled lids while many others don't. It doesn't necessarily mean that they want to look Westernized.

Re: Korean Stars' PS before and after
For example, my sister has a noticeable double lid, and she didn't have surgery whatsoever. I have barely visible lids, but there's a crease albeit tiny. Not all Asians have "slitty eyes."

I agree with this, heart_leigh. I'm half Asian and half Portugese; I never considered eyelid surgery although my cousins who are more ethnically Chinese have said that they had considered it only because they wanted to soften their features, not specifically to look 'western.'
It's all about ethnic perspective for sure. My 'double-lidded' eyes and roundish ass make me feel 'not very Asian' but ironically are coveted by my Asian relatives/friends, whilst my Portugese relations love my straighter black hair.
Beauty is definitely in the eyes of the beholder! lol

Re: Korean Stars' PS before and after
A lot of women get the surgery done as well so it's easier to put on makeup.
Double eyelids aren't a western feature!

i think they dont do that to be westernised. like what people said in front, abut 50% of the asians do have double eyelids and big eyes(though not the pokemon big iris they have). but i dount think just double eyelid surgery is enough to make their eyes that big. some of the transformation are like fomr -.- to O.O. wonder what they did. as fo rthe iris, yup, there's this special contact lens just for that.
