I had a car accident, and my eyelid was lost. When I had it replaced, a few of my eyelash follicles didn't return...I would want like 3 follicles, but I have kinky hair, so I can't even do that... :-(

I saw the "afters" of this and it looks really weird, like doll's eyelashes, it kinda sits a mm above the actual natural lash line, and the hair growth is kinda sparse and it just...it looks weird. Especially since the ends of the hairs are blunt? It doesn't taper (since they're cut) so it makes it look like, well I guess the best thing to describe it is stiches.
But I can see this being a big help for people who lost them during accidents or obsessive hair pulling (the name escapes me right now), but for cosmetic purposes only? Meh.

Wow, now on top of everything else, on humid days I can have wild, frizzy lashes that develop wings! I'll pass, I think! lol

Hi there, I am a 29 year old Asian gal who had the procedure done in October 2005 in Vietnam and it has worked out really well for me. It was incredibly cheap out there as well ($665 compared to $6000 in the US) and it was carried out by a certified surgeon who I vetted carefully and did my research on her. It is still a relatively new procedure here in the Western world (I live in London) and at the time of the procedure, it had just started to come out in Asia. I was not allowed to wear eye makeup for 2 weeks and could not curl my eyelashes for 3-4 months (i cheated after the 1st month and curled the very ends, being really careful not to touch the base). the complete healing time takes about 4 months after which you will see the full results and by god, i think this is one of the best things i have ever "purchased" for myself. i get compliments from so many women asking me if i am wearing fake eyelashes as they are so long and luscious. i will try to post a pic if i can....(at work at the moment). many of those will think it's weird having to trim your eyelashes regularly and i agree to that. what i do is curl my eyelashes first and put on mascara. if i see that any strands that are too long, i simply trim back. easy peasy.
i use to wear fake lashes all the time and it was becoming to be such a tedious task every morning and used to be embarassed to have my boyfriend see me without them in the evening. but no more!
I would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have, any one who is interested in the procedure.
Thanks
Julie
