Default Clark Gable and Hiding Big Ears

For some big ears or ears that project can cause much stress and concern. My patients tell me of much teasing and torment. Here are some images of how Hollywood seemed to hide or minimize the size of Clark Gable's ears. There is also the story about his child having otoplasty ear surgery after social trauma. In some of the movies, it seems makeup artists did a very good temporary job of bringing his ears closer to the head. I was not able to track when, how, or why they did any such techniques. It would be interesteing to find out more about what was done. This temporary pinback would be nice for those wanting to hide their ears for a special occasion. For most, glue and tape irritate the ears, and can be a major problem. Patients who told me they have tried such techniques tell me they just do not work well and that the otoplasty surgery really made a major difference in their being comfortable.

Hope this helps,

Oh, this would be a good time as any to introduce Dr. Bermant, he runs the website www.plasticsurgery4u.com and is a very respected plastic surgeon, and we're lucky enough to have him on board!

Well I had my ears pinned back about 8 years ago. Actually one ear was sticking out slightly more than the other ear but they were both kind of big and sticky out.
And yes, it did make a massive difference to my self confidence at the time and still today, its funny how you can develop insecurities about these things...

The whole process just so quick too, from seeing the Doc to having a brand new set of ears in just a couple of weeks. It was easy peasy.
I certainly don't regret the operation one bit...

I never knew who Gable was because, when I was little, they showed these old cartoons with some of the hottest actors at that time and I vividly remember the women luved this guy who had big dumbo ears, now I know.

Omg I see the before pics and I honestly can't see what the big deal is! I mean, I really do not see why these people felt they needed surgery!!
People seem to be doing ALL they can to erase everything that gives them a bit of personality.. Sad!

People get made fun of all the time for having big ears....It's just one of those things that detracts a lot to a face when it's there.

I don't think I've ever heard of someone being made fun of because of the size of their ears... But I honestly don't see anything wrong with these people displayed on that site. I just don't see it! I like it when people have distinct features.

Yeah I agree, it's ridiculous. But people should learn to be stronger when they're made fun of over things that are ridiculous, not run to the plastic surgeon. Seems to be the remedy of the decade, and it's absurd to me.

I guess that's where me and you differ hehe...I say if you got the money, know what you're doing, have found a reputable surgeon and can handle the recovery go do it, if it will make you happier, or even just prettier that's good enough for me
