Frail socialite Nicole Richie was photographed leaving the office of a prominent plastic surgeon on Tuesday for a nose surgery, but insiders say that the surgeon refused to perform the procedure on Richie. A source said "he thought that Nicole had body dysmorphic disorder, and it's a policy that surgeons can not perform surgery on people with that disorder." Richie denies she attempted to have plastic surgery.

I think any plastic surgeon would steer clear of operating on Nicole Richie for fear of any complications given her dangerously low weight and the subsequent bad publicity since she's so high profile.

Surgery is risky on any healthy person, and but on someone of Nicole's weight, it's really playing with death I think. I'd hate to know what a wreck her immune system is, and it's really too risky to test it. Her body might not withstand or bounce back from the stress of surgery, even if it is "just" rhinoplasty.
