UPDATED: A plastic surgery-savvy friend of the blog sent in this helpful graphic and info:

I crudely photoshopped a pic of Palin to show where the changes would be if she had plastic surgery, which I think she has.

The circled areas show where we see folds and wrinkles which should be tighter now. The lines on the side of the head are where the incisions would be. The dots above her lip and next to her lip show a change in the plane of her lips (more of a tilt now). There should be two more lines behind her ears, possibly, if she had her lower jaw line lifted, which I think she has.

It's most obvious under her chin, where she had a lot of extra fat stored.

Hard to tell by the pics, really. It kinda looks like she's lost weight. I know on me, even a few pounds makes a noticeable difference in my face.

She does look like she has had her nose refined.... not too much but enough. Look at the Newsweek pic & the Sept 09 pic.

Yes, I know - different angles but you can see the nosejob. Good spot!

Seriously, I don't think she's had anything done and I don't think she needed any. For a non-celeb mid-40's woman she looks really good.

The last pic at the airport, she does look weird though. But not younger and fresher...she actually looks older and shiny. Maybe she's missing the layers and layers of makeup that she admittedly wears. Or maybe it's lack of sleep with the weird schedule and jetlag. I've been dealing with insomnia lately and I look like shit and it is really aging when you aren't getting good sleep.

Her nose really caught my attention when I saw this pic.

Maybe she did have a nose job. I did think she looks much younger in this pic than she did in some of the pics over the summer.

I'd have to see side-by-side closeups of the nose. It's remarkable what can be achieved w/ makeup contouring. I do it myself when I *really* feel like making an effort. But if she did have something done, I think it was unnecessary.

I don't see much, maybe a nosejob if I'm grasping at straws but those pics aren't conclusive in the least. She wears a LOT of makeup in some of those, not to mention the angles and lighting vary greatly. Whatever, not that it matters, the only thing that would really make a difference is a brain transplant.

That's what I think. They do a lot these days without surgery. She just looked tired and needed some freshening up. She's probably getting a lot more rest these days now that she doesn't have to pretend to govern.

Based on those photos, I don't think she's had anything done. I thought I'd heard she'd lost a lot of weight recently due to stress, so that could make her face look more angular. Otherwise, I think it may just be different light in different settings making her face look a little different. And makeup vs. non-makeup.
