    You rule, Mel...
Hope your stepbrother is doing well and recovers fully. My hat is off to any and all soldiers who put their life at risk daily.
You can support the soldiers without supporting the war.

How is Sheehan an 'America Hater'????? Because she's opposed to war?! Because she's anti Bush?! That's fucking laughable.

America is a great country and we deserve better than this administration is giving us.

If your little brother has all the information about this war available to him and he still believes in it, I'm very sad for him.

And by "this war", I mean the war in Iraq, not Afghanistan (as the war in Afghanistan could at least be justified).
    Talk about *Yawn*.....
Those are the same tired talking points of the antiwar movement.
If you had someone you cared about over there and you knew the good that was really being done, maybe you would change your tune....but probably not. Not all people who have lost someone they love in Iraq have the same views as Sheehan. You are just eating up all the anti-war propaganda that you are being fed. Its really a sad thing, but oh well, we arent going to change each others views.

A lot of the soldiers in Iraq have openly questioned the "good" that is being done. Considering that the country is more destabilized than it was right after the American invasion, that the economy has collapsed -- thanks to the Bushies firing the entire middle class, can you say tax base, but they didn't think of that of course -- the Halliburtization of the resource industries, the devastation of hospitals and schools, and the open warfare on the streets...most Iraqis are not getting the "good" vibes that the pro-war people who have never been to Iraq, speak of.

A lot of the people who speak about all the wonderful things the Americans have brought never leave the luxury of the Green Zone in Bagdhad to actually see how ordinary Iraqis live. Yes, it's a good thing Saddam, the former pal of Rumsfield and Bush Sr, is gone. But what's replaced his reign is hardly an improvement in the lives of millions of Iraqu citizens. Of course, Cheney and Halliburton et al have reaped obscene profits, and I guess that's "good" for them.

But is it "good" for Iraq or America, or the world? Highly doubtful.
