Maybe you should take into consideration that it may come down to personal taste. I can acknowledge that Sarah Brightman is well trained and skilled, but I still turn off anything with her on it b/c I can't stand to hear her vocals-especially that version of Phantom.

Well, actually I can and I am, but it takes a sense of humor to be able to appreciate it.
Saying that Bocelli is a crappy singer is an oxymoron. The man has a fantastic voice that you just aren't able to appreciate. Brightman would not have made it as quickly on her own had she not had the "in" of being married to a musical creator. She would have made it eventually, she does sing well enough for that, just not as big and not as quick.

Bucelli has a nice sounding voice, but as a classical singer - he sucks big time.

I never once said she was a bad singer. She's pretty good. But her tone just makes me want to vomit, and as I said, she isn't excellent. Good, not great. At least two of the people who study under the same teacher I do sing much, much better, which says a lot. She's overrated, and as HWBL said, she probably wouldn't have made it had she not been married to Andrew Lloyd Webber. Plus, she's hideous and dresses ridiculously for any age. That's not helping

Of course there are better singer techniqually, but I'm talking about the beauty of the voice - and in my opinion her voice is AMAZING.
What do you sing BTW? What's your voice type?

1. Ok, you like her tone, I hate it. Let's agree to disagree and pass the peace pipe.
2. I'm a dramatic coloratura soprano.
3. I think she has an ugly fake bake, mousy face, and loads on the makeup with frightening abandon. Same with those crazy mermaid extensions. Plus, her fashion sense is...just...no...

Actually, when she wants to - Britney's a decent Pop singer. But she has a crappy style and she mimes everything....so no one can notice it.

What kind of music does she sing? Did she become more pop?

^^^Agree. I like, at most, two of her songs; and those songs aren't even that great. They just have a catchy tune.

Same, she has good people writing her ballads. The only songs I've really liked of hers were ballads, and they certainly weren't anything spectacular vocally.

Whoops, here I was thinking you were a woman. Oh well, I love lower voices, so it's all good. My range is B2 to about D6-E6 on a good day, but I've had some vocal trouble; used to go up to F#6.
