Arghhhhh! Sarah "The Squawking Chipmunk" Brightman. Why did you have to mention her. Now my head hurts.
Here she is (on the left) in ex-husband Andrew Lloyd-Webber's "lost" opera "Starship Trooper Harem Disco Dreaming" performing the song "Glass Ceiling"

She is the ex-wife of Andrew Lloyd-Webber (composer of Phantom Of The Opera, Evita, Joseph's Technicolour Dreamcoat, etc). She started out as a dancer in a 'hot' TV dance troup called Hot Gossip. She divorced him after he launched her singing career in Phantom and since then she's been doing lame Kate Bush impersonations in turgid, pretentious semi-operatic productions 'featuring' The Voice. She likes to act the Bambi eyed pre-rapaeilite ingenue but she's knocking on 50 now so it's all getting a bit tedious. Very popular in Germany I believe.

She also screwed up Andrea Bocelli's "Con te partiro" in a "lovely duett"
His solo version is sooooooo much more amazingly beautiful.

Down to a T. I cannot STAND that woman. She has a good voice for musicals and opera, but I can't see what she has that thousands of other more talented singers don't. She totally ruined the original Phantom of the Opera recording for me. Her pop stuff is ear-bleed-inducing. Oh, and she's HIDEOUS.
And don't get me started on Andrea Bocelli, the most overrated suckster in crossover.

I like Charlotte sometimes, mainly when she's slagging off girls aloud but I hate the way she thinks she's so amazing that she can bitch about anyone she wants in interviews, she has good range and everything but some of her recent 'pop' songs I found cringe-worthy, she hasn't got very good control of her voice when she sings pop, her voice is more suited to classical IMO.
I can't believe she had the cheek to say she thought she was a better singer than Christina Aguilera!!! Yes, she said it in a radio interview when asked if she thought she had a better voice than Xina, she thinks she has because she's had more 'vocal training' BOLLOCKS!!!
As for the sexy image she is trying to go for, I think she should give it up, she's more than just 'curvy' IMO, she's chunky and not all that.

Name one better version of the Phantom than the original London cast recording. No one will NEVER be able to top it, it's brilliant.

Ha! I love that Starship Trooper song. You have no idea how long it took me to track down the original online. It's so...camp. I love it! As for Phantom of the Opera, I only like her version, actually.
I think Sarah's adorable, but I think she's one of those people where you either love her or hate her. Or you have no idea who she is or why you should really care.
I think she's big in Japan (wasn't that an Alphaville song?), as well and here in the US. I just want to age as well as she has!

Actually the current West End casting is pretty good, especially Earl Carpenter who plays the Phantom, although the guy who plays Raoul is a bit weak, but I generally dislike Raoul anyway. I like Sarah in Phantom, but her somewhat newer stuff really is a bit Kate Bush, scarily wide eyed. And as for the Phantom stuff she did with Cliff Richard. gah!

I've seen the current cast - it IS good, but nothing like the original. And she only did the videoclip of All I Ask Of You with Cliff....
And Kate Bush is a fantastic singer, so I don't know what's wrong with that.
