I don't think it's a nazi uniform, according to the plot synopsis for the movie he plays Rudyard Kipling's son who went missing during WWI. I guess British soldier's uniforms at the time were similar to nazi uniforms later. Radcliffe is sort of hot.

I think he just has very exaggerated features... kind of like Elijah Wood. So in some lighting, some angles, etc. he'll look great, and in some it's too angular, or odd-looking.
