I AM done reading it. 'Twas a great read folks! Isn't she a bit young to be reading HP7 though? The girl is 8! At that age I'd be saying "In 2-3 years I'll let her read HP1". Oh well, Kate B never really struck me as a clever person. Or a good actress. Or an honest person. A good lay you say? Mmmh...maybe...

My son was probably eight when we first started reading the series together. The first one we read together over the course of a few months and then he read the rest of them himself. I don't think that's too young to be reading them. He loves the books and has re-read them all numerous times. He's getting the latest for his 14th B-day tomorrow.
And I think Kate looks cute. Then again, I always like her look.

I wouldn't really mind if she was 8 and reading the 1st one, or your son being 14 and reading the 7th one...But 8 and reading the 7th?Remember there IS a pretty big difference between 8 & 14 years old. A difference of 6 years actually, six pretty big years in fact, during which a lot happens in young person's life...Usually you mature a lot during these years. Indeed it isn't random that HP is 11 in the 1st (save prologue) and 17 in the last (save epilogue), and J.K. makes the characters evolve with a lot of skill and understanding through their difficult teenage years.
PS: Kate's look of always wearing shoes a size too small is stupid. No arguments.
PS2: 8 years old and reading HP7?? Did she read HP1-6?? Somehow, I doubt it...She knows it through the movies (which are great, but merely a companion to the books, not a replacement).
