It's fucked up, but it's the truth... Kelly Rowland will never get the promotion she deserves because she is dark-skinned. She isn't marketable to the mainstream.
Being a light-skinned black woman equals promotions and sucesss (i.e., Beyonce, Rihanna, Alicia Keys) You never see the more talented dark-skinned singers like Jill Scott and India.Arie receiving the attention those women receive.

I guess at the end of the day she is just the daughter of the nanny
that happens to get lucky to be Beyonce's play mate while growing up.
I also heard that Beyonce's dad is really her dad (don't think it's true though).

^^That is very true. The darkest one to attain high success would be Aretha Franklin or Whitney Houston.
I do see that darker skinned ethnic people are seen as less marketable. No, it isn't right.

^You know thinking about it they are simply selling what they think
majority of the demo wants.
Until the mentality changes it will always be like that with the entertainment
industry.
I worked a boutique last year and you will be surprised the people that came
in to buy skin lighting cream for their body and it does work to change their
skin complexion.

Because Beyonce's dad is Kelly's manager too. He doesn't want anyone to be a competition for his daughter and that's why he kept pushing back Kelly's cd. Meanwhile, Beyonce keeps putting out crappy videos for all her songs and goes all out for promotion.
When was the last time you ever saw Kelly promoting her CD? If only Kelly realized what a jerk Beyonce's dad is and switched to a different label and management, she might have a chance.
