When a child is holding a mother's hand like that, that is all the validation the mother needs that she is doing a good job.

What a nice set of pics. No nanny, a real mom, with her kid really holding her hand, doesn't get better than that.

My son told me that when he turned 9, he'd be too old to hold my hand.... He just turned 12, and I happily oblige when he reaches for my hand. I do not remind him of what he said back then, just smile.

^^It's seldom, and never around his peers or cousins, and usually just when we're walking and talking. Not a "momma's boy" kind of thing.

When my kid was twelve, no way was he going to be caught dead holding mommy's hand. He didn't even want to walk beside me in case one of his friends saw him. "You can go now, mom." Can you feel the love?

mine's 9 (in 15 days) now and he still takes my hand when we're walking across the parking lot or something and he doesn't give a shit who sees. I have nieces who are 11 and 15 who still hold my hand when we walk places.
