Gwyneth Paltrow & Daughter Apple go shopping in LA

"Gwyneth indroduced her young daughter to one of the finer things in LA - shopping! Gwyneth took Apple to pick through the racks at Maxfield's on Melrose on a sunny Saturday. Wonder if Gwynnie picked up a designer blanket for her daughter's third birthday next month?"

She's 3 on her next birthday..... is that too old? Doesn't it vary child to child?

^^It's 'recommended' that you get them off the bottle around age 1...but yes it does depend on the kid. Some become super attached to bottles and it's hard to break. Same thing w/pacifiers (like Kate Hudsons kid).

Anyway, this kid looks a LOT like her dad...and that is not a compliment, sorry....don't think she's even slightly cute.

My niece (in law) has hers as a "going for a nap"-trigger, so I just wondered if it was that....
but no she's shopping....... d'uh (at me!)

Doesn't anyone use tippy cups any more?

Oh & I have to mention that (even tho' I doubt her mother's motives, etc etc), Sam Sheen was 3 in March & is drinking from a proper cup....

I feel sorry for kid from famous parents coz the parents have probably had PS to correct anything bad & then the (ugly) kids get compared to them... but yep, genes are a lottery...... sometimes it works & sometimes it doesn't.

I was going to comment on the bottle as well. I think that as soon as children can manage a cup, they really don't need a bottle any longer. My kids were both off the bottle by the age of two. Of course, you tend to be wiping up more spills, but if you use sippy cups with lids, it's not too bad.

^^I agree. I got my kids off bottle right away. The pacifiers went too. They can screw up their teeth if they become too attached. So they went cold-turkey. Neither of them cared though.

That's an ill-fitting ugly brown dress Apple has on. I'm kind of surprised since mom is such a self-professed style maven.

Maybe she took the bottle so none would spill out while shopping. Who knows, she could just be lazy.

But thats what sippy/tippy cups are for. They're training cups with lids.

My 3 yr old was off the bottle at 14 months old....and been using a sippy cup for 'on the road' stuff only and a real cup otherwise. But I know a lot of kids that are over 2 still with the bottle...just a habit.

Gwyneth looks great here. She looks so natural and normal...and that's hard to find in LA. NIce to know some women in LA don't habitually hit up Hollywood Tans!
