^ You're definitely not the only one. I'm a huge LOTR fan, but I didn't like the Legolas look on him. Actually I think he looks horrible as Legolas. He was a great elf! But... blond hair and blue eyes on him are bleh. When I first saw him "normal" I went HELLO. The dark hair and dark eyes is so much hotter -- and he has only gotten hotter with age. My sister also thought he was ugly as Legolas but gorgeous as Will Turner.
