well, I'd be laughing if they were black socks with sneakers= horrible look. But white socks don't seem weird or funny looking to me.

Overall, though he looks a little frumpy, like the clothes don't really fit him or somehow make him look stumpy. Whatever, he's running, I'd go for comfort too.
