With the constant scrutiny they face..I think they decided not to give the papz or the public anything more than blank stares since everyone is trying to make money off of them right now. Everyone wants to know every detail about them...so I think by not showing some PDA is their way of having atleast some control of the situation. It's the couples who constantly go over board with PDA are the ones that are usually on the verge of a break up. Shiloh should be proof enough that they do more than look at each other...just because they don't feel the need to do the whole "We're so in love that we have to smile all the time and slobber all over each other" bit..doesn't mean things are going bad.
Obviously they aren't letting the public or the tabliods trash stories dictate their lives. They do what they think is right for them.
And yeah they do look like wax figuers...even Jude Law looks like a wax figure..I think it maybe the lighting.
