When Yasmeen stepped out of the Yves Saint-Laurent show in '96 at the last minute, speculations arose that she might be retiring. She however was planning on pursuing a degree in businessupon the advice of her long-term boyfriend Ralph Bernstein, a law firm executive and a real-estate businessman. When she stepped out, she was pregnant with Bernstein's daughter. They married in '97.At the time of their marriage Bernstein was 40. She named her daughter Maya meaning faith in Urdu and though she lives fairly away from media attention, she's pretty active with fund-raising events, most notable of which have been the charity for saving Germany's famous Black Forest.

I've said this a billion times, but when I worked at an indie bookstore in NYC, she was a regular customer. She was a LOVE. Just the nicest and humblest and sweetest person.
I think she's absolutely beautiful and unique. In person, she's astonishing.
