Apparently they don't care how ridiculous it seems. Or they prefer being ridiculous in addition to people talking about how they're a couple who won't admit they're a couple, instead of just people talking about how they're a couple. And a boring one at that.

Because they don't want to give the tabloids a photo to run after they break up. You know the one. They photoshop a fake rip between the two people who are broken up.
Mind you, I think they're cute together so I'd like for them to stay together. Doesn't seem likely though.

They sit together at the french tennis open with the world media there to take their picture and put them on TV but at the premiere of their film they don't want to take a picture together. If you want to date and keep it private then don't hang out at the french tennis open with the whole world watching but then not be photographed together at the premiere of the film where you are both co-stars.
