she really has done an amazing job of staying in the public eye and pretending she's somebody. Basic Instinct is the only hit movie she was ever in, wasn't it?

She's the most obvious example of box-office success being directly linked
to her nude scenes (at least in the 1990s). Basic Instinct did business;
The Specialist did business; but a lot of her "serious" roles like Gloria
tanked big time.

I think she was excellent in Casino, but the character's personna wasn't too much of a strech from her own - good casting mostly
