I can't imagine not having fixed pets. Besides the issues of responsibility & health, I have no interest in seeing drops of blood or doggy balls.

My Jake has now as of one week ago. I felt like the cruellest mother in the world! He got a new collar but it's not much of a trade really. His doggy balls were cute. I called them his "fluffy's"

lol, Elmo's were round, plumpy and very proud looking.

How's Jakey doing? How many stitches did he get?

    Thanks for asking

He's doing really well actually. He was chasing wasps in the garden last night, gotta get him out of that habit. Well I guess if he does catch one he won't do it again! Not sure how many stitches he had but they used degradeable stitches as taking him to the vet is so stressful. I think they've all gone now.

They had to shave all under him and a bit near his bum. He looks odd with bald patches.

All of my adult cats are neutered. The 4 younger ones aren't yet. My two male dogs are neutered, and since there are 9 females it was the easiest way to go.

Both my cats are spayed. The little one came from Cats Protection (I cried the whole time we were there, I don't know how I am going to get my next cat as I don't think I can go again ), and they insist on it, as you would expect.

My old girl was a stray that turned up at a friend's house all starving and with her hair falling out, and lots of missing teeth where we think she'd been hit by a car. I adopted her and now she's my lovely spoilt old baby (she's 14 now). She was about six months old when I got her and she went in to be spayed but it turned out she'd already been done, poor thing.
A big boy did it and ran away.

I've got a bonded pair of rabbits and the boy was neutered when he was 4 months old, the girl bunny is going to be spayed early next year when she is old enough.

I've had two litters of bunnies before with a different pair and don't wanna go there again, plus rabbits get pretty aggressive when entire and they have shortened life spans.

Yes, my 3 dalmatians and 1 male cat are all speutered. Wouldn't have it any other way. Haven't read through the posts and probably don't want to, as this is something I'm a freak about...

all our pets are animal-shelter rescues and they are fixed and given all their shots before anyone is allowed to take them home
i also agree with everyone that it is very important to do this.

Odd this topic got bumped today, as I'm having my poochy neutered day after tomorrow. I feel bad that I've waited until he's almost 11 months old to have it done, but I wanted to wait until I had a chunk of time off work in case he's in a lot of pain or needs attention.

I hope he does okay and isn't in a lot of pain afterwards.

    ^^
laurent, check with your vet or the animal shelter. sometimes you can give them a little bit of baby tylenol with warm milk so they are not in pain.
