What crumpet said. It's non-negotiable.

I don't think I would even date a guy who disliked cats. Cats are such a big part of my life. If my boyfriend/husband would later develop some problems with cats, he'd just have to deal with it. Even if it were allergy...

hey, Love me, love my cats or hit the road!

I'm lucky that my hubby is as crazy about animals as I am. He adores our cats.
He's even getting excited about us adopting a pug when we move.

Yes, I would choose my dog over my boyfriend. In fact, in our pretend breakup senario we argue over who gets the dog. Everyone who knows us knows that we love the dog the most, then each other Just the way it should be...

That being said, the girl in the article is a little on the loopy side. Sounds to me like her man accepts the cat, she's the one that has some other kind of issue.

If dude can't accept my reptiles, then he needs to explore other options. If he has a pet rat or something like someone else mentioned, then that's fine, because I let my snakes out and let them crawl around, but I keep them on me most of the time, always where I can see them and easily control them, and if I knew his rodent was loose, I would definitely keep them away from his pet.
