i like that my cat is cuddly and needy and follows me around like a dog. at the same time, he only lets me carry him or have him sit on my lap if he's in the mood, which is almost never. but he's always close by and always lets me pet him, and demands it if too much time goes by without any petting. and he sleeps with me.
he doesn't let me cut his claws though. the boyfriend of a friend finally managed to do it but when i tried, he'd squirm and hiss and generally become hysterical. same when the vet tried to clean his ears. he's only been with me for a couple of weeks though so maybe he'll get used to it eventually. he doesn't scratch or bite though, not intentionally (except when he's play wrestling with my foot and then he'll nibble it and grab it with his claws), he just squirms and protests.

I find it really funny how the cat will hate everyone in the house except for one person, perhaps the person who doesn't even feed the cat!

I wonder what these cats are responding to in choosing their one favorite person...

My sister was given a kitten whose mother had been dumped with her litter in bushland behind our house. She was a beautiful cat but half wild. I was only 2 when we got her so we grew up together, and I would play with her and cuddle her, but nobody else could get near her. She tolerated my mother (food lady) but when I was little I would lug her around with me, dressing her up and otherwise torturing her, and she put up with all my nonsense, yet would hiss if my siblings got within metres of her. If she deigned to sit anywhere near them they'd consider it a victory, but I was a brat so I'd roll around wrestling with her in front of them and tickling her fluffy tummy, and she'd be purring and they'd be jealous. Fun times.
