Sounds like some cuddling and doggie treats are in order.

Just love her and know that if there are problems tomorrow, then there will also be the means tomorrow to deal with them. Try to cancel sad thoughts as they drift into your mind and concentrate on taking things a day at a time.

I doubt she could have a better mom, so just spoil her rotten and think about how lucky you two are to have each other and know that there was a reason you two were paired.

Whatever happens is meant to be. Nothing transpires on accident and everything that we encounter is perfect, even if it all seems like chaos and black dead ends at present.

    Hello everyone!

A quick update on my girl... she goes back to the vet tomorrow morning for more blood tests, to see if the meds are working.

Today, I had to coax her to eat, but she did... and is accepting any milkbone I give her! Last night, she laid with me and watched TV, and my cat came over and laid next to her. Keep in mind they aren't exactly buddies and tolerate each other more than anything. So to see kitty showing some love was nice... and she knows her friend isn't feeling good.

Right now, she's resting (like mom) in anticipation of the blood tests tomorrow, and the results from the lab in Texas.

Just wanted to keep everyone up to date!

    UPDATE:

*sigh*... crazy dog! Went back for blood tests and the numbers are holding steady. Vet didn't want to say that was good or bad though.

BUT... the interesting thing was after her xrays. Here I thought they'd find a tumor or something. Nope... When I went to pick her up, they were all laughing. So I figured she peed on someone or something like that. The staff followed me back to xray and asked if I was missing anything. I'm clueless until they pull up the xray. Silly dog ATE something she shouldn't have! Racked my brain trying to figure out what it could be but have no clue. Its either a rock or a piece of metal.

So... we have to wait for her blood levels to get better before he can do surgery to remove the mystery object. Its around the size of a few quarters stuck together. Its unclear whether or not the object and her red blood cell issue are related. It does explain, though, her odd appetite.

If I can get the vet to email me the xray image, I'll post it here and we can all take bets on what it is.

She goes back on Tuesday morning for more blood work, and hopefully, to schedule a surgery date.

    Afternoon all!

Girl is doing good. Cooked her some hamburger and rice last night and she ate every last piece. I had a banana and some popcorn.

The vet called last night and said he does want to do surgery late next week, even if her crit levels have not gone back to normal range. There's more risk, but, after consulting with the staff, thinks the foreign object has to go.

Pray that she'll be ok during the weekend!!!
