I don't. I think this is awesome. Hopefully, they are all rescued cats. If I found a stray cat, I'd more than happily take it to the vet, get it spayed or neutered and offer it to this guy. I am sure it would have a much happier existence than many pets do that live in households with only one or two animals. The number of animals alone never tells the whole story.......

We will be relocating in the next 1-2 years and we would definitely incorporate some of these ideas in our new home. We basically live for our animals and it wold be fun to see them enjoy this kind of environment. Many of them had such horrible starts in life...

I'd like to see the room where the kitty litter boxes are....blargh! This guy probably has a full time maid to just clean out the boxes every hour on the hour.

Animal hoarders creep me out. This man even has cat art. Shivers.

i love it. I'd even love to do that for my 2 cats.

i am kinda grossed out that it is in the kitchen. That room is off limits to my cats.

I kinda thought that was the perfect solution to the cat-on-the-counter debate. They can watch from above.

They're quite possibly indoor-outdoor cats. Not everyone keeps their cats inside all the time. Hence, the litterbox action is probably not so overwhelming.

If his house smells good, that disqualifies him from hoarder status for me. If he's just some retired dude who loves cats and has a lot of free time to care for them, keeps them healthy and happy, and has a clean, non-cluttered, functional home, then he's fine by me.

The fact that it's a Spanish style home (as many in the Santa Barbara area are) means the wipe-clean tile floors MAY not be a planned feature.

I don't have a choice as we have a kitchen/bathroom extension and the cats have to go through the kitchen to get to the litter trays in the bathroom.

Does this man have 18 cats, or do 18 cats have this man?

I don't see a problem here at all. Animal hoarders are people who take in more animals than they have room/money/time for. They end up living in filth, among sick, neglected animals. In this case the house looks spotless, a lot cleaner than the houses of many people who don't even have one pet. And the cats all look healthy and well-fed. Considering he had 35 grand to spend on a cat playground, he can probably afford plenty of paid help to keep things clean.

I think the Duggar kids are all clean, well fed and healthy too. But I still think they're crazy. Same rules here for me.
