    They are beautiful cats!!

Lynnie,...LOVE your Sweetie! She is so pretty!

So what is the difference between a Ragdoll and a Maine Coon?

Did someone say cat pictures? We think our boy has some Maine Coon in him. He definitely has the MC personality, but not the size.

Did y'all know there are Maine Coon rescues all over the US? Lots of beauties looking for good homes.

Awww....he is precious Trixie!! LOVE his coloring!

And thanks for the rescue link---after Sweetie, I would like to get another Maine Coon, and I would like to adopt again if possible, so that is awesome to know.

    Thanks Lynnie...your Sweetie is gorgeous!

We adopted him when he was about a year old...someone had dumped him at my vet's office. We still can't figure out how anyone could've abandoned such an awesome cat.

Very handsome. He actually reminds me of a Russian Blue (I think) except with longer hair and a more massive body.

The two other cats I've always been interested in are the Norwegian Forest Cat, which I think is related to the Maine Coon. It has an extremely thick coat, that is essentially waterproof.

And I love Siamese cats, too, even though the ones I have known have been a little high-strung and talkative. I love the markings, the streamlined bodies and the history. My grandmother had one that (when she came to visit us) would stand at the top of the stairs and meow for me to come to bed. Then, would sleep nestled between my legs the whole night. Pretty cool - almost doglike.

However, I think I would only adopt a cat from a shelter at this point.

Funny thing is, that picture was from the SPCA's website...I have far better ones, but am too stupid to upload them.
Trying to find one where she is all stretched out--its hilarious.

She is really great...best thing we ever did was adopting her. I cannot tell you how much my girls adore her.

So if anyone is on the fence about adopting a cat, any cat, I strongly encourage you to do so.

Ok, lets see if I can actually do this:

I haven't seen it happen aside from this cat, either. It was an enormous cat with an enormous appetite.

That's not all hair either---she's just a big girl who has a lot of hair. Look at that gut!

My ex's cat drooled like a fire hydrant when she was being brushed on an evening (she was a big fluffball as well). I won't put up a picture of his actual cat, but she looked very much like this Norwegian Forest Cat. She was a paler, creamier shade of gold but the markings and fluffiness are very much the same. She really was an adorable little bugger, and very stately in her attitude. ETA: I had to do a double take when I first saw this picture - aside from the darker colouring its almost identical to a picture I still have of his cat
