It still looks like a shark to me, but where I come from, the biggest fish is a Lake Sturgeon. http://www.fishalberta.com/01season/Sturg/027.jpg

Uh no, that's a shark. The top of the tail fin is breaking the water like the dorsal fin.

Also the pectoral fins are much too long and triangular and it has anal fins.

Of course that's a shark! It doesn't get any sharkier than that, actually. Dolphins just look like sharks when you're on eye level with them. When you look at the water from on top, you can easily tell them apart.

I once went swimming in Tulum, Mexico. (One of the most beautiful beaches in the world) Anyway, I always swam at the same spot every day. In the afternoon we decided to go for a hike and go on top of a little cliff. I looked down at my little swimming and spot and there were dozens of sharks! Everything was full of them. Never went there again.

You guys are funny! Actually, I'm off to the beach right now. But since the water is freezing cold here, I won't go too far in. There are signs on every beach telling you how to behave around sharks:

See if you would spend less time with the cop and more times with us, maybe you wouldn't be so out of the loop, Voodoo. How many times do I have to tell you that The real life is overrated?

We weren't talking about the original photo posted but about this one:
    http://www.surfshooter.com/DolphinInfo.html

Someone mentioned a shark and a surfer picture, but the photographer said it was not a shark but a dolphin (the pic in the link above)

Chilly! I swam at Tulum once, and you're right - it's incredibly beautiful. But I'm glad I didn't see sharks!

As for the picture of the shark/dolphin in the wave by the surfer, people all over the internet are arguing about it. I'm easily swayed... I can read one person's adamant argument that it's a shark & I believe it, and then I read someone else & I'm convinced it's a dolphin. Dunno.

It says on the sign that sharks don't care about human beings at all. However, they have to bite something to find out what it is.

That was really comforting to know.

Kinda ruined it for me, you know. Did you stay at those funny little cabana villages, too?

Thank you voice of sanity. I wondered how long it would take them to figure it out.
