    Good thoughts and prayers.
Into the sunrise. The sunset is sad to me….it only means the night is coming.

    Awww..poor widdle pumpkin....

She'll be fine. Believe me, it's harder for us then it is for them. Just give her lots of cuddle time and she'll be fine.

    She's just precious.

She's precious. She'll get good care and love and she'll heal fine and forget all about her traumas!

Well let me say, she's WAY more energetic than I thought she'd be!

And no #2 till Sunday morning, that had me worried.

She wants to GO GO GO and the hard part is keeping her settled. Good thing is she is good in the crate and doesn't whine and cry that would kill me.

Vet tonight for a check up.

It took Josie two or three days to poop after her surgery. She peed massive amounts because of the fluid they gave her during surgery. She even peed on herself the first night. By the second afternoon, she was back to her crazy self.

    Ahhh.

    EDIT-

Went to the vet last night, bandages off and got a very good report, she's still on crate rest but it made me feel much better to know all is well.

My sweet, pretty girl passed on Monday.. It still doesn't seem real and I'm crushed. She had a complication from the surgery that I see I posted about on here..years ago.
She was the most perfect dog, ever. RIP my Sweet baby girl.

This was sent to me years ago when one of my friends said I needed another dog..who knew how true it would be..

One by One, they pass by my cage,
They say, "Too worn, too broken, too old of age.
Way past his time, he can't run and play."
Then they shake their heads and go on their way.

A little old man, arthritic and sore,
It seems I am not wanted anymore.
I once had a home, I once had a bed,
A place that was warm, and where I was fed.

Now my muzzle is grey, and my eyes slowly fail.
Who wants a dog so old and so frail?
My family decided I didn't belong,
I got in their way, my attitude was wrong.

Whatever excuse they made in their head,
Can't justify how they left me for dead.
Now I sit in this cage, where day after day,
The younger dogs get adopted away.

When I had almost come to the end of my rope,
You saw my face, and I finally had hope.
You saw through the grey, and the legs bent with age,
And felt I still had life beyond this cage.

You took me home, gave me food and a bed,
And shared your own pillow with my poor tired head.
We snuggle and play, and you talk to me low,
You love me so dearly, you want me to know.

I may have lived most of my life with another,
But you outshine them with a love so much stronger.
And I promise to return all the love I can give,
To you, my dear person, as long as I live.

I may be with you for a week, or for years
We will share many smiles, you will no doubt shed tears.
And when the time comes that I must leave,
I know you will cry and your heart, it will grieve.

And when I arrive at the Bridge, all brand new,
My thoughts and my heart will still be with you.
And I will brag to all who will hear,
Of the person who made my last days so dear.

Very sorry to hear that Rhonda.

What kind of complications from a 2 year old surgery?

OMG I am so sorry Rhonda!

You gave that little sweetheart a happy home when she really needed it, and she gave you back unconditional love. I'm sure she was a wonderful member of the family...

My deepest sympathies to you and your entire family.

    *hugs*

I'm so sorry, Rhonda. It's so damn hard to lose them.

It's been almost a year without my border collie and I still miss her so much.

When I got her she had a hernia..when my vet fixed it he said it was from the outside in- like a BOOT KICK.. and the scar tissue was very bad and he barely had enough skin to sew her up so put in some mesh to hold it. After about a year it showed up again. not as big or as bad. but it had torn in a new spot. It never bothered her at all and she was fine. So apparently on Sunday .. we think part of her bowel came through the hole..and twisted.. but when he opened her up on Monday it was not twisted, just black and damaged like it twisted and untwisted..?? So he removed the damaged bowel and fixed the hernia and she was stable and doing a little better all day. At 3pm he called and she had gone into cardiac arrest.
