Well I hope everything goes well and she's not in much pain.

Aww, she's going to be so happy when she sees her momma

You have such cute, sweet babies I can tell how much you love her already.

    Unhappy

Well surgery was over about 11- my vet said it far exceeded his worst thoughts. Her bladder and intestines were all intertwined in the hernia. She had a lot of scar tissue, her muscle wall in the back of her abdomen was torn from her pubic bone. And he had trouble finding good tissue to close her up.. So he said NO nothing for 2 weeks , out to pee and back in a crate. That should be fun..

So I didn't even ask about the bill.. I'm sure it far exceeds his worst case scenerio he estimated for me.

And he wants her to spend the night to monitor her pain.

Thank for all the well wishes.

    Love, Bella

I'm sorry the procedure was so involved. Sounds like she's in good hands with the vet and she'll be home tomorrow. Yeah!
    Hang in there.

Sorry to hear that it was a bit more involved. Looks like this little girl was lucky you got her when you did

We had to have pretty involved surgery on Josie last May. She had a lipoma removed that ended up being 2.5 pounds and she needed 25 staples to close her up. She's a big girl and I had to keep her quiet and calm for two weeks. No jumping, swimming, scratching, etc.

    It'll all be fine

I might need some advise from you..

I just talked to the vet he said she is doing as well as can be expected. She did pee and trying to walk some. Might come home tomorrow. Depends..

I asked if he thought she ever had pups he said NO it would have killed her. AND he said she was not born with this hernia, it was some blunt force trauma to the abdomen. That made my heart hurt.

How horrible! How could anyone hurt that poor baby? Well she's got an exceptional 'Mom' now who loves her and will take great care of her.

    UPDATE-

Bella gets to come home today, I'm picking her up at lunchtime.

She is doing better eating, pooped and peed. But still very sore.

Needs to be crated for 2 wks.

I can't wait to see her.

Well she's home and in her crate. Groggy and sore.
Doc said the next 10 days are crucial that the incision stays shut, if not she'll need a specialist and it would be every bit of $2,000 to fix.
BUT that is NOT going to happen. Prayers and positive thoughts please I'd truly appreciate it. Thanks.

Look at my poor lil' girl.
