Keith or Neville. They're typical Aussie old man names. Everybody has an old Uncle Keith or Uncle Nev. That's how you should try them out - put "Uncle" in front and see if it conjures up visions of shorts, knobbly knees, long socks and sandals (that's how old men dress down here).

I'd go with Keith, Winchester, Archibald, Bruce, Clive, Percy, Horace, Alfred, Edgar, Horatio, or Cosmo.

oooh i'm adding gus, cosmo and bruce to the list!
and i love chauncey but it reminds me of chauncey the gardener (played by peter sellers in 'being there') and even though i love that movie it also makes me a bit sad.

Gus is a great name. Beauregard is a name I kinda like too.

I love a lot of these suggestions. But just have to point a few that I truly adore1

George: because of the old Bugs Bunny cartoon 'And I will love him and hug him and call him George'....hilarious.

And hello STAN: simply because it was Dorothy's husbands name on the Golden Girls. Everytime he's at the door and you let him in you might be able to hear in your head 'Hi, it's me Stan!'.

Though, no bad suggestions here. Good luck and have fun!

Love Gus. I had a turtle when I was a toddler named Gus. Left him out in the sun too long one day. Oy.

Stanley made me think of The Golden Girls, too. If the cat has a bad rug on his head, that might be your name. That, or Donald.

I had a cat named Gus. Short for Gustav Mahler. He just reminded me of him for some reason.

Ignatius. That was on the short-list for my son's name. Not sure if it's an old-man name though I do like it.
