southernbelle, your dog is amazing. Great story. Just goes to show where she really belonged.

As for my cat, I guess I'm attached to him but he's in the doghouse at the mo. He keeps going under the bldg. and getting all dirty. He's had 4 baths at the pet wash these past 3 months. Yesterday was the most recent time, one day after he'd had a bath. He gets freaked out by the traffic on the street and dives under the bldg.

Why do you let him outside? He could dart into traffic instead of under the bldg, which would be a lot worse.

My cat has never gone near the street wherever we've lived. He's afraid of the foot traffic through my bldg. complex. He's also trying to hide so he can dart out and try to catch the birds in the garden. I've given up on trying to keep him out of the crawl space. I just brush him well and wipe down his feet with a wet paper towel.
