I have never heard that before....well guess its time to take the dog..get um "squeezed"?
Life will break you. Nobody can protect you from that, and living alone won't either, for solitude will also break you with its yearning. You have to love. You have to feel. Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable.

I can say I havent laughed this hard in a long time. You guys are so funny. I love it. Im saying the same things you guys are saying and then Im reading it. My Sammy has had this done once and I couldnt look at him. I felt so bad. I also saw how they did it on Dirty Jobs even though they "blurred" out the dogs poopy shoot hole. Seems painful, thank God we humans dont have to have our anal glands expressed. OUCH to the millionth power.

Off topic, but how HOT is mike rowe?

you know these anal sacs are akin to the ones in skunks?

our sammy got an infection in one of his, we had no idea about them either. we take him to the groomers now and ask specifically for them to do this...sometimes they forget, or they dont because they think it's gross

your lucky to find a groomer who can do it and for only 5 bucks. alot of groomers either don't know how to do this or won't do it.

I had a beagle growing up who had terrible problems and was constantly being taken to the vet by my mom to have his glands expressed. He would do the "boot scoot boogie" on the lawn and off he would go within a day or two to the vet.

maybe beagles are prone to this?

pretty yucky, let the groomer do it.

Our little terrier user to have hers done every now and again by the vet, otherwise they got infected and smelly.
A big boy did it and ran away.

I don't think I'd be able to squeeze my dogs anal glands. Thankfully, the haven't gotten swollen yet but when they do, I'm gonna pay for someone else to do it.

when i saw the topic of this i was just like wtf??

but as i read....Zorro (my boyfriends pug) has a problem with his...if he gets too relaxed....this is too funny but we call it "butt juice" haha...and it smells horrible..like rotten fish or something...its so gross....ive had a lot of dogs in my life..and never ever had a problem with anal sacs ever..never even heard of them until zorro

and for some reason the darn dog does it on me and his grandfather all the time...i guess we just relax him too much???

Oh, my, I am a cat person, so I didn't know about this. But if my dog had this problem I'd definitely pay out $5.00 a month to get his sacs squeezed. I say this although I've done some gross things to my cats all in the name of health.

Earlier in this thread, some cat owners mentioned having to get their cats' anal sacs "expressed" so you might wanna check if your cat needs to get it done Eddie

There was a re-run of Dirty Jobs last night where the dude was to work as a dog groomer and I wanted to see him try the anal sac squeeze but hubby didn't have the stomach to watch it
