Luckily for me my cats don't understand English, apart from "puss puss, din-dins" so I can say whatever the fuck I want around them. I doubt I'm causing any psychological damage because they're already insane.

On the whole, I refuse to be PC in front of my dogs. I say nothing when they sniff each others privates. It balances out.

I saw a commercial for Blue dog food the other day and it referred to us human carers as "pet parents." Nice try, but I guess someone didn't get the memo.

I think my cats understand plenty of words. "Meowmix" is a banned word in this house because it starts shark-like feeding frenzy stampedes. They also understand the words sausages, cheese, moth, food, bacon etc. If it pertains to their stomach they understand the words perfectly. However they have yet to grasp the idea that YaaaarghDropThatNowYouFilthyLittleFucker means 'please be so good as to drop that horrible object so I can clean it up' and not 'yes I would like you to take off like someone has set your arse on fire and then leave it somewhere out of sight so I have to spend the rest of the afternoon trying to find it before it starts to smell'.
