    Your cat pictures are beautiful.

Never owned a cat, although at McDonalds drive-thru yesterday there was a real pretty black cat lurking about. I wanted to scoop her up but didn't.

I've never had another cat like him, he was a special boy.
Sorry for your pets faithanne. People can be so stupid and lazy.

I used to have a black cat many years ago adopted from a shelter. I named him Spock because of his large ears as a kitten. He passed away and although we have had many many cats since then (and still do), we haven't had another all-black one. A local shelter was having an event called "Black Cat Friday", a play on "Black Friday" and I was so tempted to head on down. We lost 3 of our cats in the last 6 months to cancer, heart disease and kidney disease. Although we still have quite a crew, the house is feeling empty....

Tati, Kepler is darling. Quazar losing a cat is never easy no matter how many times it happens. I always swear this time is the last time....never is though.

Thanks We are involved in animal rescue work and so we end up with difficult cases - illnesses, ferals, moms with babies and we will foster but some just aren't adoptable so we keep them. Some cats/kittens literally end up on our front steps (they know where the best place in the neighborhood is to go). Then others we set out to adopt as pets. I'm just happy that we can help in the ways we can but it feels like a drop in the bucket. There are some that are old now that we've raised from kittens that I can't imagine losing yet but know we will sooner rather than later. The three that died this year were not expected just yet and their illnesses took them fairly quickly.

I had a black cat growing up. I named her Buffy after Family Affair. whadyaexpect? I was 4.

She was kinda anti social. Never sat on anyone's lap til we got my grandpas cat when he died. She was all white and named Mittens. Mittens was a big lap sitter, then Buffy was kinda like, "Shit! We can do that?" lol

Oh no, can you call an animal rescue? Maybe someone can trap and foster him/her. Strays have such short, awful lives if no one helps.

I have a black one, she's called Mia and is a rescue (found her abandoned, weight about 300g. She was from our psycho neighbour but that's another story). She's a very small cat, much smaller than all other cats living in the neighborhood. She's a little devil, always ready for a fight with your arm / hand / feet but never really hurt you. Steals all food available. I caught her stealing my salad the other day. Oh and she's the boss of my two (big) dogs, too.
