I can see how you would wonder why she did this until you saw Herbert.

Although this picture doesn't do him justice! He is much bigger in person. LOL

Hahahaha ok, thanks for the clarification. The dog looks like a grizzly bear more than a dog.

My beagle is sort of a BIG whimp! I wouldn't trust him to scare an ant away...

i HATE spiders and we seem to have alot of them. the pest man said that you can't really spray insecticide to get rid of them because they walk on the tips of the leg and to kill them it needs to get it on the body. any other suggestions to get rid of them. i will try the cedar chips. we want to redo our flower beds we have lava rock in them now and i hate that stuff. it is like a bullet if you hit a rock with the lawnmower.

I hate spiders, they are the only animal that scares me big time. Hair spray works, but you have to give them a big dose of it. If I can reach them, and Mr. Reptillycus isn't around, I smash them with anything that will kill them with one blow. I go into survival mode...It's either them or me. A*O, you are so brave... That big Mama on my wall would cost me sleep for days.
Honeysuckle, there are chemicals that will keep them at bay, try another pest company. Good luck...cats also like to catch and eat spiders.

I guess I've never been all that scared of spiders. I don't LIKE them particularly but they don't make me freak out. Unless you are going to behave like an idiot and hassle them, aka Steve Irwin, then I just leave them alone and they leave me alone. Plus they do a great job keeping other bugs at bay. However, put me at the top of a very high building and I'm toast.

I have Arachnophobia. I have always been just terrified of them. But I am not afraid of the the real little ones that cause the cobwebs or the ones we have here called grandaddy long legs.

Funny that I am so afraid of them but snakes don't bother me!

I have never been able to watch the movie Arachnophobia. I think I have a slight case of it...small ones don't really bother me, its those big fuckers that get to me. I get all itchy just looking at a spider.

I will scream and run like a girl from the room. Actually that's not true.. but if one of those spiders dropped on my face, then I would. I would scream bloody murder and be out that door so fast you'd hear a sonic boom.

I usually just get the vacuum, extend the wand as far as it will go and suck the fuckers up, letting them spin in the cannister till i'm sure they're good and dismembered.

I think the fear of them might have something to do with my father snatching those big assed garden spiders off its web and chasing me around the yard with it when I was young.. then when he was done laughing, stepping on it and hearing the sickening crunch.

bleurk, i'm geting nauseous just thinking about it..

My grandmother used to love those garden spiders, she would sit and watch them in their webs and just talk about how beautiful they were. She died back in 99, and every time I see one I think of her, and those are the only ones I will not bother, or kill. I think I'd be scarred for life if my dad ran around after me with a spider.

My mother did it too, with spiders in the house. My parents are kind of sick.
