Do they make webs or are they the kind that prefer to hang out in shoes and folded stacks of sweaters???

I read if you leave a couple of conkers in a room spiders will leave because they hate the smell of them.

Huntsmen don't make webs - they just kinda lurk. And Honey, we don't have conkers here but a can of bug spray usually does the trick LOL. MrAO was clearing out the gutters yesterday and found a redback spider ready to pounce. Those fuckers WILL kill ya. I love this country.

I've read that if you put cedar chips in a pair of stockings, and leave it lay on the floor, like behind a couch or table that spiders hate the stuff and won't come anywhere near it. Haven't tried it yet.

I woud splurge and get floors made of cedar and stuff all of my furniture with it. I think bugs in general hate cedar. That's one of the reasons they use it in pet beds.

Am I the only one who found it odd she put her dog down there to "investigate"? I mean if I heard some mysterious noise I wouldn't be sacrificing my dog to whatever was in the basement. Then again at least the dog was ok...

I once made my bf kill a tarantula in Sri Lanka.

He wanted to capture it, but I insisted that he kills it. It made a noise, more like a crushed mouse or rat than a spider, that's how freaking big it was.

I sat on our bed wide awake for two nights afterwards always imagining something touched my leg. Naturally, he snored loudly next to me.

Well, that's the one animal on this planet that didn't get my love. I hope Karma forgives me.

A*O you are so brave for sitting there and ignoring it... i remember one morning i was having a shower and i turned around and saw the dark silohuette of a huge huntsman climbing up the shower curtain. I was cornered in the nudey rudey with a pervert huntsman. i flung back the curtains and dashed out to grab the trusty can of Mortein. They are so tough, it took most of the can just to bring it to the ground.
