A tiny puppy survived with just cuts and bruises after a woman threw him off a three-storey high balcony during an argument with her boyfriend.
Seven week old Rocky was thrown from the balcony in his dog carrier after drunken Sebrina Carty became enraged during a domestic, a court heard.
An RSPCA inspector said Carty's actions were 'sickening and cruel' after she appeared before magistrates in Leeds today.
Rocky had a 'miracle' escape when a Sebrina Carty threw him from a third-floor balcony during a drunken argument with her boyfriend
The court heard how police were called to domestic disturbance in Carty's flat in Appleton Square, Leeds, in October last year.
They found the smashed pet carrier and Rocky - her boyfriend's white Jack Russell Terrier - collapsed nearby.
Rocky was taken to a local vet who found he had soft tissue damage and bruises but no broken bones.
Carty, 21, pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to the puppy.
RSPCA inspectors said it was a miracle Rocky survived the three-storey plunge
She was disqualified from keeping all animals for two years, ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work and pay £250 costs.
RSPCA inspector Dave Holgate said: 'This was a sickening case of deliberate and sadistic cruelty.
'The puppy was only a few weeks old and must have been terrified. It's a miracle that he wasn't seriously injured or killed.
'The sentence passed reflects the serious nature of this incident and serves to show that this kind of vile cruelty cannot and will not be tolerated.'
Rocky made a full recovery and now lives in a new home.
