As it's made for dogs I don't see the problem?
If in doubt chuck it out
A friend of mine gave me this Gerodog bag yesterday. It looks like chocolate treats for dogs. I don't know this food and all I know about chocolate and dogs is that this is an evil combo.
Does anybody know anything about Gerodog food? Should I feed this stuff to my dog? I feel like going to the shop and ask for a change.

Wait-I thought chocolate and dogs was a lethal combo!

It is, but you can get choc for dogs. It's not lethal.
I think it's fine, it's made for dogs, I doubt it's "real" chocolate (the kind we eat)
I thought dogs were allergic to dark chocolate only?
My neighbor's dog ate one of those huge Hershey's milk chocolate bars last year. It's the one that is the size of about 5 regular bars. The dog didn't get sick, throw up, shit, nothing. She is still running around healthy as can be.
My friends Standard Poodles(2) got into her Christmas Hershey's Kisses and had bad diarrhea all over their white carpet-while the were out at a party. It sounded unpleasant.

Usually "chocolate" for dogs is actually carob. The package should be marked as such.
It's not the same chocolate we eat, it's made for dogs. Like a chocolate flavor.
Now, that said:
My mom's Siberian Husky devoured an entire bag of Hershey's miniatures that she got off of the counter. Ate the wrappings and all. Never got sick. No vomit, no pooh, nada. However, the next day she stole a bottle of Mylanta out of my mom's purse and we found the bottle with all the teeth marks and the top half chewed off with Mylanta oozing out.
No, I didn't want to and I am glad I didn't. I see no reason for chucking something out simply 'cause don't know it.
I felt like asking because if there's some food my bog never had, then it doesn't mean it's bad food. And asking for opinions is the point of forums!
For the chocolate thing, I obviously know it's a specifically made choc for dogs! OMG!! It's not bad for pets, yes maybe, but the question is not the choc but Gerodog!
My dog still needs some extra care as he comes from the shelter and has specific needs right now so his doc suggested to avoid this kind of treats.
