agree with you about both things honey, totally..
I don't mean a winter coat, but a full on outfit.
The other day I found a ballerina outfit for a small dog. I personally HATE stuff like this!
While I'm moaning I also hate the way some owners treat their small dogs...they need exercise, so stop carrying them EVERYWHERE!

I have several sweaters for my small dog. He's about 10 pounds and even here, it gets too cold in the winter for him to go outside for very long without something on.
I have two t-shirts for him that are strictly for fun. One I bought for his birthday and the other for Christmas. I thought they were cute and it was for special days. I don't dress him up just to lounge around the house or to hike his dainty leg on the hedge.![]()

I'm crocheting Elmo a sweaterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
He has jackets and sweaters but no fancy outfits. It rains here a lot and obviously gets cold in winter so I think it's ok.
Elmo wore a tux to Lobe's mom and Cynic's wedding.![]()
If you think it's crazy, you ain't seen a thing. Just wait until we're goin down in flames.
My Mo wears jumpers n stuff but i dont dress him up in owt daft - the boy looks goooood n he loves it!
Curiouser and curiouser...
i've dressed up my dogs before and a cat for halloween
Silly bitches, twitchy links are NOT for kids!-Mel
Halloween doesn't count! My 9.5 pounder has 1 sweater for very cold days when she just shakes. Honey-I do not carry her everywhere I swear! She thinks she is a big girl!
I didn't start out to collect diamonds, but somehow they just kept piling up.-Mae West
My littlest girl loves her pink shirt! She gets cold during the fall/winter so a few years back I bought her a shirt. She loves to wear it to bed. She even paws at me when she's cold (I swear!) and I put her top on and then she's happy.![]()
Im not too fond of dressing dogs up all the time, but we have dressed hemi and zorro a few times. During football season they both had Eagles jerseys that we put on during the games..dawkins and westbrook..so damn cute!! A few years ago for halloween i actually found a zorro costume for a dog, so i had to get it...it had a zorro cape and hat and mask, he wouldnt wear the mask..but we do have pics of him in his cape!! And we did attempt to put a santa hat on zorro and reindeer antlers on hemi..that lasted for a whole 5 minutes

I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
I think it's fine if they are cold. Not so sure about other situations. Maybe in Halloween or very rarely to take a funny picture but if the animal is not comfortable in that at all I wouldn't want it to have to endure it for long.
Recently I was looking at a website for a company that sells 100% wool yarn. They had a picture of a dog wearing a sweater made with this yarn, and I couldn't help but think how strange it is to shave the fleece off of a sheep and then put it on a dog.
Crumpet has a whole wardrobe of coats, sweaters, and cute little tank tops. She just got a new pink and white sundress. I call these 'behavior modification' devices. she is much more calm when wearing something--at first. Then she gets used to it and is balls to the wall as usual. She looks really cute and I don't give her anything that is uncomfortable or doesn't fit well. She goes w/me to the nursing home and they loooove to see her dressed up. She has her own stroller but usually walks. She is 11 lbs.
Guess that tells you what I think of the subject, huh?
To be honest i don't care as long as it's not upsetting to the pet.
My boys have a fleecy thing that goes on their backs in exceptionally cold weather but otherwise I prefer them au naturel.
Why do people say "Grow some balls"? Balls are weak and sensitive! If you really wanna get tough, grow a vagina! Those things take a pounding! -Betty White
