There are a lot of wildlife photography awards that are given out every year. The majority are looking for incredible shots like this monkey using a mobile phone... you know, those shots that celebrate the majesty of wildlife and how diverse and connected the animal kingdom truly is.
But the Comedy Wildlife Awards isn't your ordinary photography competition. This new prestigious honor celebrates the best shots of animals acting like complete nutters -- including a hippo hilariously running away from birds.
Here are some of the greatest (and funniest) things to happen to wildlife photography since the invention of the camera.
This year's winner was this hamster who obviously had a very important place to be. It was appropriately named "Rush Hour" by Julian Rad.
This stealthy deer earned silver for photographer Liam Richardson.
And bronze went to this ever-so-elegant gorilla digging for gold caught in the act by Oliver Dreike.
There were also a bunch of hilarious honorable mentions.

“The number and quality of the entries was fantastic,” said British comedian Hugh Dennis, one of the award's judges.
“The finalists should be very proud of themselves, as should the animals they photographed, simply for looking so funny. Sadly there is no way of telling them.”
The awards are in part an effort to raise awareness of The Born Free Foundation, which protects species in the wild.
"Paint me like one of your French seals."
