Jasper - I've had this guy for 5 years and he's painfully shy. He's only crawled into my lap for the first time a couple of months ago. We're working on things.

Awww they are pretty, just don't know why some cats can be so incredibly shy for no good reason. I have two gray brothers one is so terribly shy and his bro is happy go lucky dances around the house.
My very first cat as a child was a black scrawny thing that we adopted from the shelter. I was the lone person who wanted her because there were so many more beautiful ones. Little girl won. She was awesome.
See, Whores, we are good for something. Love, Florida

Awww, gorgeous kitties, Brookie. And I also love the photos you posted, Witchywoman.
We've had 2 black kitties and 3 tuxedos over the years. All except one have passed away. The last one is almost 20, he is our little old man. We also have a marbled tiger, a couple of tabbies, a gorgeous (and he knows it) white and ginger oriental mix and a fat, sweet, happy white and orange guy. All except the last two are quite old.

My sweet baby JoJo, we think he's a Maine Coon but don't know for sure. He's about 5.

Oh boy another pretty black cat. I'mnotbitter does your JOJO weigh a lot? Main Coons can be huge.
we've had many of them over the years, but now we just have one. Frito Marie (yes she's got a middle name)
she's probably the smartest cat we've ever had. She plays hide and seek, she also sits by the fridge and begs for Pepper Jack cheese. I buy a block for her alone.
hub got tired of her sharing his.
Also, when i get home, and she's outside, she'll accompany me up the stairs and sit in front of hub and meow until he gets her some cheese (or cat food) She knows that
hub will do it if i ask. and her Vet check ups are awesome. Go figure LOL
here she is playing Hide and Seek (hey, i didn't say she was good at it LOL), eating an ice cream sandwich, and pizza. (she's part people)

Yes...I have one all black shorthair. I've always heard the black ones (like black dogs) are the last to be adopted at shelters so when I adopted her sister (a black/white tuxedo) I didn't want to split them up so I took her too. Also took a longhaired tortie I fell in love with. At the time I only had a grey longhaired male so I thought that was it for awhile but we lost him and then the tuxedo became ill and died of FIP so it wasn't long before I wanted another. And I made the mistake of mentioning it to a friend who works at a no-kill shelter and I got my baby tuxedo...and his black/white spotted brother who (of course) I couldn't leave behind. And...just rescued a poor little stray orange tabby so Cat Casa is at capacity right now.
Many years ago I fostered 3 little black sisters and couldn't give any of them up so that ended my foster career. I don't even pretend anymore. I'm an unashamed collector and CCL.

I had a beautiful part Burmese boy when I was a teenager. He was such a little character but sadly he was run over when he was only a few years old by a car reversing onto our driveway (the same way our dog was killed years earlier - people wanting to turn around and instead of a U-turn they'd back onto our driveway without looking, killing our pets in the process). I've never had another cat like him, he was a special boy.

My Boss Cat is black and her full name is Tess of the Fleabervilles, although she'll also answer to Tessietops and Comtessa De Cat. Pure evil wrapped in black fur with the prettiest little face. When we still had all five of the cats I saw her take on the other four all at the same time. Any attempts at a coup by the others have always been brutally and painfully crushed by her. She's getting on now and I don't think we'll have her for that much longer now but she loves her mummy and daddy so we'll keep fighting for her until the end.

I have a mostly black cat (he has a couple of white patches on him). He's part Manx, so he is a "rumpy" mostly black cat. He is the cat, that if the house caught on fire, I would risk death, to save him.
