Default 17 Foot Pythons in Florida

Burmese pythons have become a huge problem in florida. Because of their size they have no natural predators and pretty much eat what ever they want. They now apparently have hunters trying to capture as many as they can.

Yep and they have even found some down here in the Keys. Good thing I don't have a snake phobia.

People buy these exotics as pets, and then when they are too big/too much hassle they release them into the wild. Idiots.

Nah, I'm the youngest and only girl of all brothers and they always had snakes and other such reptiles. Don't get me wrong, if I were to go outside my house and saw a 17 foot python, I certainly wouldn't be happy about it. The girls in the office though, boy are they freaked out when they catch one down here. Just talking about snakes makes them cringe lol.

I remember seeing an escaped/released snake as a child when I was staying with my uncle in Florida. It stretched right across the roadway and had been run over. Tire tracks right across but the head end was still alive and thrashing. That and the Palmetto bugs are two great reasons not to live there.

Yes, the dreaded palmetto bugs. *shivers* Give me snakes anytime over palmetto bugs.

Yeah. My uncle forgot to bring in the cat's food dish from the deck one evening and it was swarmed by a writhing mass of the things scavenging for any scrap of leftovers. You couldn't even see the bowl. It looked like something from a horror movie.

Some drug dealer/gangsta up in NYC was killed by his pet python back in the 80s/90s, and when the cops interviewed his grandmother, she said, "That boy loved that snake to death...".

I don't think you need a snake phobia to be afraid of that thing.

I hate snakes. Their skins do make lovely purses and shoes, though.
