There are 2 eggs and they are going to hatch around the end of April
The mom and dad take turns sitting on the eggs

That is so cool.

A few years ago, I had a basket of silk flowers hanging on my door and a bird had built a nest in it. I was gonna take it down and then I noticed eggs. We had a good eye view of the nest because the door had little windows at the top and she had nested right in front of one. The kids and I enjoyed watching as this little bird stayed with that nest, through rain storms and wind and they hatched. 3 little birds. So cute and I was lucky enough to see them the day they flew from the nest. It was really awesome and the kids have never forgotten it.

We have a nesting pair in our neighborhood and can see the brood flying around. Always wanted to see their nest. This is even better! Thanks.

I watched the other day when the father stepped in for the mother- it looked like he had stayed out really late and she was yelling at him for it. It was pretty funny.

I didn't realize it had sound - my laptop speakers were turned off. Glad you brought it up.

Must find a way to combine the subservient chicken with the eagle cam.

subservient eagle cam?

There are screencaps films on the forums if you want to see what you're missing. There's also comparison shots of the male and female. The female is bigger and has a fluffier "do"

I'm such a maroon-I get up at 3:30 am to go to work and I look and it's daylight on eagle cam! I'm thinking WOW! Hornby Island is a bright place!

Then I read that they play the day video at night when the eagles are sleeping.

We use to get blue tits in our garden every now and again, we use to love watching the parents flying away and coming back with food for the babies and seeind the babies trying to fly. Until one year I woke up in the night to loud banging, whe I looked out of my window a nasty evil crow or black bird (I'm not sure it was dark) had pecked the box open and killed them all.

It was so sad my mum didn't want to get another box, it was like losing a pet.
