    Default Help, Doggy Gas

My dog gets really bad gas when it's bedtime. It happens everyday, it's like they're waving a pile of doodoo across my nose. She sleeps in my room and they stink so bad that sometimes I feel like taking her outside. She only eats Eukanuba dog food and drinks water so I don't think it's the food. Anyone else have this problem or is it just normal?

My vet sells this dog food Medi-Cal and they have a formula for doggies with sensitive stomach called Medi-Cal Gastro. It's very gentle to their tummies and easily digested. Elmo was on it when he was sick throwing up and having diahhrea for unknown reasons (this happened like 5 yrs ago) and they gave us a couple of cans after Elmo had his dental surgery the last time, too.

Meh - some dogs are just more farty than others. My dogs are brothers. They look identical and have exactly the same diet and routine. One NEVER farts, the other is always letting off small 'silent but deadlies'. If you have eliminated any obvious cause then I'm afraid it's just the way they are.

    'silent but deadlies'
    I love that expression

My Jake doesn't really fart. He's a big burper though - quite amusing. I contacted the breeder and she said they all burp. Who knew?

The only time he farts and it really smells is when he's had something different to eat. Like on the odd Sunday he may have leftover meat and veg - then he honks, but otherwise he's normal.

Perhaps trying a different food brand may help, otherwise - that's just her - part and parcel, and you must love every part!

Diesel is only gassy around 2 or 3am. When I can't sleep I am bombed by the dog and her father.

I must admit though, my Chesney has a stinky lil ass on him at times. Just yesterday my cousin was visiting with her kids including a 10 month old. We all suddenly got this almighty stench up our nostrils, it was disgusting, like rancid sewers. My cousin looked really embarrassed and took the babies nappy off to change her but nope, it wasn't the baby. Then I looked over at the dog who was sat looking quite smug waggling his tail to waft the smell!!

My older dog, Snoop has pretty bad flatulence too, more so as he's getting older. If you pick him up its like a toy with a squeaker in, it must squeeze the air out of him coz as soon as you touch him its - pfffblllffssst! haha

Our doggy used to have stinky farts, but we started feeding him fruits and veggies (which he loves) and that problem seems to have fixed. He's either not as flatulent or not as stinky Either way it's better

I thought veg made farts MORE stinky! My dog pretty much stinks after anything he eats, but veg makes him worse!
