A stray kitten adopted us
I've never been a cat person but now I have two. Must be some sort of karma for saying it.
Anyway, our neighborhood is not a neighborhood that has strays so we were surprised to see a baby kitty at our front door. It was 110 degrees out and the poor thing was panting and super skinny so I made BF put food and water out for it.
We didn't want a cat and our cat-who has been solo for 14 years and has always been hostile to other cats sure didn't want one.
The kitten had other ideas...
The next day it managed to crawl under our gate and into the back yard. It started howling and pawing at the back door. I opened the door and it walked in and laid down like it owned the place.
Fast forward four days she's passed all the "it can stay" tests.
-Nobody claimed it from the ads and posters (we think she was dumped)
-Uses litter box with no accidents
-100% clean bill of health from the vet
-the other cat has tolerated the introduction. She went from being curious to indifferent. Which I guess is better than kicking it's ass.
Here she is. We've tried out some names on her and she responds best to Zoey and Kitty. My other cat's name is Puddy Tat so my friend has been calling her Puddy II Electric Boogaloo.
The vet thinks she's about 10-12 weeks old. She's like a tabby only with more spots than stripes.
