I lasted catless about a year or so... got a kitten!!!

She's utterly insane but I let her get away with everything. How can I stay mad at that little face?

She doesn't really have a name yet. My brother and I are calling her Kavouri (Crab) because she does this ridiculous sideways trot whenever she's about to attack but we can't call her that forever. I can't remember how I named all my previous cats, at some point the name just came to me or my mother and it fit. For some reason I've always had girl cats (Nephertiti, Mitsuko, Valeria, Candy) so I guess this one will just end up with some random girl name. I was thinking of naming her Astarte after the goddess (it's the Babylonian version of Ishtar) but goddess names can be heavy for kittens. Even my Nephertitti, I simply ended up calling her Titti. Other thoughts for her name are Reena and Abbie (sorry to all the Abbies out there). Not sure about those either...

What a precious darling! I like all of your names so you can't go wrong. She is so cute! I can see how she will be the family keeper and run everything to her liking. Lucky kittie. Lucky you.

Brookie, my one problem with Reena is that I can't really yell that name. I tried yelling it but it''s not as satisfying as a 3 syllable name. We'll see.

I have an Athena. She grew into it.

Athena is lovely but it's strictly a person name here. I think my aunt Athena might object to sharing a name with a cat, lol. Most of the Greek goddesses are out for me for that reason.

As for Persephone, again, a person's name. Not that I know many Persephones but it would be kinda weird. Same reason I can't consider Penelope, Hermione, Ariadne and a bunch of other names.

I was kinda thinking about Gabrielle. (Xena would sound too stupid) also considering Magenta and Dorothy

How many cats do you have?

I've also named the 3 stray boys I'm feeding but with strays I go for silly, descriptive names so they are Meatball (no tail), Antenna (crooked tail) and Theodore (complicated).

give her a middle name to make it three syllables. One of my cats is named Frito. When she is in trouble she's Frito Marie.
