I think even the dog was just playing. I'm sure that a dog won't be fooled by something that looks human if it doesn't smell human.
But that statue probably smelled intensely human.

Haha, poor doggie.They're smart and all but sometimes dogs get fooled. My own dog just yesterday stopped and stared for the longest time at a metal statue of a dog in someone's front yard. He just couldn't figure it out, it was hilarious.
