Cat survives 80 foot fall, unharmed
Quote:
Me-Ouch: Cat Survives 80-Foot Fall
SUMMERVILLE, S.C., Mar. 22, 2006 (AP) Piper the cat may have used up a life or two but was unharmed after falling nearly 80 feet from a tree.
She had been in the tree for eight days when a rescuer started up to save her Monday. But a scared Piper crept away until the limb underneath her snapped.
She fell 80 feet, twisting and turning in the air before slamming onto the ground. It looked like a catastrophe, but Piper wasn't even dazed, scampering off before her owner Rodney Colvin could catch her.
Piper was found a few minutes later under a vehicle. Her owner said she had no broken bones and was only a little dehydrated.

Re: Cat survives 80 foot fall, unharmed
They were all on Good Morning America this morning, the whole family and the cat. They said the vet checked it out, and it was dehydrated, but other than that, it was fine. Just because it hit the ground and ran doesn't mean it is ok, my friend backed over his deaf kitten in his car and it got up and ran all the way into the house and was going down the cellar stairs when it died. And this was after being squished by a cat. And yes, my friend felt awful, he used to check under his car every day before he drove, and the cat was never there, and the one day he forgot to check the cat was there and he ran it over. It was very sad.

Re: Cat survives 80 foot fall, unharmed
I saw this on the news yesterday. I thought the cat would land on his feet (this is what ppl say right?) but it didn't. Myth busted. Hope the kitty is doing ok.
