Bacon Bubble Machine
I was watching a program that we have here in the UK called 'It's me or the dog' the other night. Its basically where people who have naughty, aggressive, rampant or disobedient dogs call up this lady who is a dog training specialist and she comes to their house and teaches them how to control their dog or dogs.
The other night there was a man and woman who were told that they couldn’t have kids a few years ago so instead got three dogs which included 2 very boisterous Labradors and an old tired Staffordshire bull terrier. After having the dogs for a couple of years the woman miraculously became pregnant and had a little girl. The dogs then became a problem jumping around the baby and pulling on the lead while the mum was pushing the pram etc. So the specialist arrived and said that the dogs didn’t get enough exercise so introduced this bubble machine. It’s a machine that blows out loads of bubbles but it is specially made for dogs with liquid that smells and tastes like bacon and is totally not toxic or in any way harmful to the dog! How good is that?? The dogs were loving jumping around in the garden chasing the bubbles, it kept them entertained and quiet, they collapsed on the floor later on it tired them out so much!
I had a look on ebay and you can buy them for around £25 and they liquid stuff (which you can get in a few different flavours) is a further £10. I’m thinking of getting one for my bf’s dog because I know he doesn’t get walked as much as he needs to with us being at work all the time and his mum’s not really fit any more, that why he’s always running off!!

I watched that programme too, Tiara! I must have missed the bit about the bacon bubble machine cos I don't remember that at all but it sound like a good idea.
To be honest though, I would have though having bubbles flying aroung would have caused over-excitement and increased barking. I know my bofriend's dog barks really loudly whenever she is excited so it would be no good for her.

They were too busy trying to catch the bubbles in their mouth to bark! I thought it was a great idea. Apparantly the smell of bacon is really strong too and they taste really good to a dog so its as if there is food around!

Re: Bacon Bubble Machine
I'd love a machine like that so that my Elmo would exercise a little more. But does it guarantee that it will intrigue your dog? What if I bought it and Elmo is totally indifferent to it...
Elmo isn't too athletic and is getting old so jumping into the air etc might not be a good idea...

Elmo the other way around, he barks when there's food...maybe cuz I taught him to speak, and in training him for the trick I had treats as a reward so he kinda thinks to get food= bark

That tickled me up, we call them sausage dogs!
I'd love to get a bacon bubble machine for Jake. We'll have to see if he behaves himself.

Re: Bacon Bubble Machine
I supoose it depends on the dog moomies, my older dog Snoops is 16, blind, deaf, slow and pretty miserable looking but my cousins kids came round last summer with bubbles and to our surprise he was jumping everywhere trying to catch them, they were regular bubbles though so I had to stop him incase they upset his tummy. I'm guessing he'd be even more excited over bacon smelling ones!

I had a pic of a pair of pugs in hot dog costumes just like the one above, one had the mustard on and the other had ketchup on but I lost the pic
ETA: I found it

Re: Bacon Bubble Machine
Oh my god, poor pugs!! Look at the one on the left, his expression looks embarrassed! I can only imagine the looks I would get if I were to walk my German Shepherd down the street looking like that !
