Default Our Lovebird, Mott The Hoople, Has Flown

Our peachface lovebird, Mott The Hoople, has flown to the bridge. He went early this afternoon, while at the avian veterinarian hospital.

We adopted Mott when he was a baby from a breeder...on Bill's birthday, which just passed.

Bill and I are very upset, of course.

Mott was bonded to me and I always told him that he was my best little friend, that I loved him with all my heart, and then some.

I told him every day, "I don't know what I'd ever do without you."

I could almost say that now I am going to find out, but I believe that since he's on the Bridge with so many of my other angels, I will have yet another ally! And Bill and I could use another guardian angel at this point...

    What a day.

I am sorry to hear of the loss of your kitty.

We adopt these animals, love them with all our hearts, and then they leave us.

Still, animals enrich our lives so much, don't they, and teach us. We become better people for having adopted them, even though it's so hard and sad to have to say "Au revoir."

The Creator loans us these animals, I think. They were never really ours to begin with. He allows us to borrow them, love them, care from them and learn from them...and when the lesson is over, and the animal is a little weary, s/he goes back home.

Bill wondered aloud when it might be our turn to go to the bridge to reunite with our angels.

"Oh, we're good on the planet for another twenty five years yet," I told him. "The Creator ain't finished torturing us yet."

    And we are older people!

"All animals on earth are angels wearing fur, feathers and/or scales. Birds are special angels. They already have their wings."

Thanks, Laurent. I'm going to miss that bird...I absolutely loved him.

Still, I have four birds to care for...budgies...and they know that their "brother" isn't here anymore.

I have to show them some extra kindness and attention.

Mott The Hoople grew up from babyhood with budgies and thought that he was a budgie himself!

I'm sorry for you loss Pippin. I know a lady who has lots and lots of birds and they are like her kids. She has 3 or 4 cockatoos and they are her babies, her heart would be broken if anything happend to one of her birds!

I'm sorry too, Pippin. Pets are the lights of our lives sometimes; it's hard to let go.
